ATHLETE
A three-year captain and starter for the division-one IUPUI Men's Basketball team, Marcellus finished his athletic career as two-time All-Summit League and ranked second all-time in games played (134). Marcellus is also among the all-time IUPUI leaders in games started (95) and within the top ten all-time in steals, rebounds, blocked shots, and assists. Along with success on the court, Marcellus exhibited academic excellence in the classroom and was honored as an All-Summit League Distinguished Scholar and named to IUPUI's Academic Advisor's List nine out of a possible ten semesters.
Currently, Marcellus is living out his childhood dream of being a professional athlete. He is now in his rookie season playing professional basketball in Germany for TG s.Oliver Würzburg. Be sure to follow the blog and link below to stay updated on his progression throughout the season.

To Marcellus Barksdale, passion and purpose are the lifeblood of success. As such, he's lived his life with those two values at the forefront. Currently in the beginning stages of living the dream as both a professional basketball player and speaker, Marcellus has always dreamed to inspire and empower youth through the strength of his story and life-experiences.
Marcellus is a thought leader and a professional keynote speaker with special emphasis on leadership, academic success, work ethic, and entrepreneurship. His keynotes are focused not only on inspiring youth, but also creating actionable strategies and game plans for lifelong success.
Marcellus is on a mission to help empower and inspire youth to uncover their passion and purpose to maximize full potential.
SCHOLAR
Marcellus is truly grateful for learning the importance and value of education and continued learning at an early age. That same educational foundation has carried him to great academic success throughout his life. In his time as a scholarship student-athlete at IUPUI, Marcellus was able to earn both an undergraduate and graduate degree while maintaing a cumulative GPA of 3.5. Marcellus completed his Bachelor of Science with a major of Sports Management and minor of Business and also earned his Master of Arts in Public Relations specializing in Sports Public Relations Management. In the near future, Marcellus plans to further his formal education by pursuing a doctoral degree.
